Working on Studio

I have been spending much of my studio time working on organizing. I found a filing cabinet on freecycle and have cleaned it up. It is a large cabinet close to the size of a three drawer style filing cabinet often found in offices, but this cabinet was used in a library to hold the cards they used to have before everything was put on the computer. Each drawer is about 3.5 by 7.5 inches on the inside, there are 18 drawers (two are missing) two drawers are on each of the 9 sets of rails. Each of the drawers can be removed from the cabinet. It is very functional for my needs.

I have gone through most of my collection of vintage items I think (not really sure ;-) ) and have placed them in the drawers so they are easier to see. It is very difficult to feel creative when you can't remember what you have available and then can't find it when you remember an item that will go into a design.

I also made myself a necklace of graduated faceted blue gold stone with 4 mm blue gold stone beads between each bead. I love blue gold stone and have acquired several strands at the bead show here in Denver. I plan to make a set of matching earrings to go with my necklace but have not settled on the design I will use.

I have also made three anklets with seed beads and glass millefiori cane beads, they are complete except for the clasps which I need to uncover from the mess in my studio.

Since I also have decided to house a home office here also, It is quite a mess in here. I haven't had a home office in over 5 years and have really missed having one.

I also stepped outside this afternoon to briefly watch the snow falling. The flakes were huge and heavy with moisture. I love the snow!!

I have a few more pictures to share with you tonight of jewelry I made for my daughter. The necklace matches one of the earrings from my last post. It is reversible so you can wear the toggle clasp in front or back. The red earrings I believe are the ones that she gets the most comments on.
